Environmental issues


We have made substantial progress in our attempt to reduce the carbon footprint of La Mandria, both our own and that of guests staying here. Since our arrival we have managed our woodland for all heating requirements and much of our winter cooking and hot water. This year modifications have been made to reduce electricity consumption and we now all enjoy copious quantities of solar heated water during the summer months thanks to panels situated in the vineyard and behind our farmhouse. The addition of three donkeys to the Land Management Team has meant a further reduction of grass cutting by machine plus of course free manure for the vegetable garden.
